AG Prototypes were recently approached by an automotive company to help develop their new infra-red control system driving aid for disabled drivers.
Working closely with our client we created the 3D Cad files, and produced the stereolithography model. This was tested for form and function prior to supplying 10 sets of vacuum castings of fully working prototypes incorporating a rigid high temperature PU handset with flexible PU over mouldings, and a rubber keypad.
The handsets mount to a vehicle's steering wheel with quick release mechanisms so they can easily be removed when necessary, and allows the user to operate the vehicle's secondary controls such as indicators, headlights, wipers, horn etc.
